Let the Racing Commence!

This might seem like a little late; consider we’re into late February, and we’ve watched more stage races from around the globe than days we did on the turbo trainer this winter.

Tour Down Under, Tours of Qatar and Oman, Volto ao Algarve, Trofeo Mallorca, and now we are into the Giro di Sardegna and the Tour of South Africa.

Some are even looking forward to the Giro d’Italia and the Tour of California.

Our attention is diverted to events closer to home. This weekend sees the start of the Belgium season, with Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. Remember last year? Bobbie Traksel won, and the majority of the riders climbed off

From here, the racing builds to a crescendo as we approach April and a month of monuments from Flanders through Roubaix to Amstel and Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

Michael Barry – seen here at the recent Tour du Med, describes racing as the same tempo all year round – no easing into it.

La Fuga will be at the sharp end of the Classics season with great trips to Flanders and Roubaix. Unfortunately you’re too late to join us for Flanders this year but if you fancy experiencing the cobbles of Northern France for yourself then we have a few spaces left on our Paris Roubaix weekend.
